In Crust We Trust: 2022
Kia ora, peeps.
Seasons greetings and all that jazz. Fingers crossed, whatever you celebrate at this time of year is going swimmingly. I hope you've found time to loosen your belt, breathe the fuck out, and devour something deliciously unhealthy.
This is a quick post to inform you that heavy music portal Last Rites has published the first (of two) end-of-year editions of In Crust We Trust. If you're wondering — "what the fuck's In Crust We Trust?" — it was a monthly column I wrote for Last Rites that focused on raw/rotten releases fuelled by crusty punk and hardcore. If that sounds enticing, the first edition of In Crust We Trust: 2022 highlights my favourite full-length releases from the past year. The second edition, which will be posted tomorrow, focuses on EPs and demos. As always, I owe a massive debt to Last Rites for allowing me to pollute the site’s pages.
If you're on the hunt for more ugly noise, DIY Conspiracy recently published an end-of-year article featuring my favourite punk and hardcore releases from Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. Follow the link to Down Under(ground): 2022.
I ditched social media this year, so I have no idea if anyone is reading, sharing, or potentially even enjoying my end-of-year writing splurge. If you’ve undertaken any of those endeavours, thanks a million. You're a goddamn superstar in my book. I hope 2023 treats you and yours kindly. Stay safe. Be well. Kia kaha.
Ngā mihi o te tau hou!
